Whichever way you look at it, the 2016/17 Premier League campaign has so far been played out in rather alarming fashion for David Moyes and his struggling Sunderland outfit – with the lowly Black Cats currently sitting on a mere two points at the very foot of the English top-flight.
Sunderland only just managed to beat the drop under the well-versed expertise of Sam Allardyce last term, but as each season plays out with the Black Cats looking more and more vulnerable among the ever dreaded Premier League relegation zone – surely it’s only a matter of time before the Stadium of Light faithful eventually see their beloved side relegated in rather unceremonious circumstances?
Most Premier League onlookers simply fail to share great expectations for Sunderland come the end of the season…
Sunderland look absolutely certain of relegation even if it's still only October. They look as doomed as Aston Villa did this time last year

…and without that all important Tyne-Wear derby on the cards for Black Cats fans to look forward to this term…
Think #Sunderland are going down. Haven't got those six banker points vs #Newcastle this season.

…perhaps this is already the beginning of the end for Sunderland’s modern Premier League hopes…
Sunderland surely going down this season. Just like Wigan and Aston Villa before them, there comes a point where you can't keep staying up

Yet if Big Sam does nonetheless decide to return to his former post at the Stadium of Light in the not too distant future…
It'll never happen but I really hope Wolves get Big Sam in and not some foreign nobody, mainly so he can't go back to Sunderland

…maybe all is not quite lost for Sunderland at this particular stage in the season…
Sunderland FC better sack David Moyes now and bring back Big Sam Allardyce.
That's the only person who can save them.

Right in the here and now however, things seemingly can’t get all that much worse down at the Stadium of Light…
I've never been more miserable as a Sunderland fan than I currently am. Even worse than the thick Mick season. Awful state

…and if something systematic doesn’t change for the Black Cats sooner rather than later…
Do not understand Sunderland. Big club, owners who are loaded. But something does not seem right, every season very poor, average players.

…it remains difficult to envisage Sunderland picking themselves up, dusting themselves down – and resolutely finding a way out of their current mess!
Sunderland look so poor under Moyes, think they are doomed and will be joined by Hull and Middlesborough
