Saturday Accumulator Tips

Cardiff City to beat Rotherham United

The Bluebirds appear to have a new lease of life under Russell Slade and have been impressive in winning their last five home games. During their blistering run at home they have netted a whopping 12 goals and I would expect a few more to come in this one. Rotherham have been in freefall during the last two months and haven’t won since they beat Yorkshire rivals Leeds 2-1 on October 17th.

Last time out they were held to a 1-1 draw by bottom-club Blackpool, and I expect more misery for Steve Evans’ men at the Cardiff City Stadium.

Ipswich Town to beat Leeds United

Mick McCarthy is really beginning to work his magic at Portman Road and last week’s 1-0 win at Charlton saw his side creep into an automatic promotion place. In Daryl Murphy and David McGoldrick they boast one of the divisions more lethal strike forces in and their goal-scoring prowess could be a deciding factor here. Even more so given that Saturday’s visitors are yet to keep a clean sheet away from home this season.

The Whites however have improved since the permanent appointment of Neil Redfearn as manager and secured a fantastic 2-0 win over league leaders Derby last weekend.

Bournemouth to beat Wolves

Eddie Howe’s men are the success story of the Championship so far this season and they currently occupy fourth place. They are unbeaten since a 2-0 reverse at Derby in late September and since that period they have won seven and drawn three in the league.

The Cherries have drawn their last three but they should have enough to cause hapless Wolves big problems. Kenny Jackett’s men are in freefall and have dropped from top spot at the start of November all the way down to 12thand a currently on a run of no win in five games.

Derby County to beat Brighton

Table toppers Derby return to home comforts after a shock 2-0 defeat at the hands of Leeds United last weekend. The Rams have lost just once at the iPro Stadium this season and are pretty safe bet whenever they are on home soil.

Sami Hyypia’s Brighton slipped into the bottom three last week and after reaching the play-offs last season, are struggling to hit the same heights during this campaign. I fully expect the Rams to win this at a canter and pile more misery on the Seagulls.

Nottingham Forest & Charlton to Draw

Although Forest have won two of their last three games the brace of wins are their only two in the last 13 in all competitions. Stuart Pearce’s men have had some very impressive results and some equally mediocre ones as they search for a level of consistency.

Charlton on the other hand have had something of a surprise start to the campaign with many ‘experts’, tipping them for relegation at the start of the season. They were the last unbeaten team in the Championship and before last weekend’s cruel stoppage time defeat were without defeat in four games. Forest striker and the league’s top scorer Britt Assombalonga misses this one through suspension and I fail to look beyond a share of the spoils.
