Stoke to Beat Aston Villa 19/20:

Stoke have quietly gone about their business so far this summer adding quality players to their ranks. Bojan and Mame Biram Diouf will both had excitement while Phil Bardsley and Steve Sidwell will add stability. Stability isn’t something you’d associate with Aston Villa at present, the owner wants to sell so the manager has no funds and this could spell trouble. A 4-0 opening victory away to Huddersfield saw their manager given the boot and they followed that up with a 2-0 away win at Exeter in the League Cup. Brentford could only manage a point at home to Charlton on the first day and needed penalties to overcome League 2 Dagenham in the Cup in midweek after a 6-6 thriller! Bournemouth are in good form and won 4 of their last 5 home games last season while Brentford were much stronger home than away last season, not winning in their final 6 last season on the road, Bournemouth’s quality should see them through here.

Norwich to Beat Watford 7/5:

Norwich hardly had the greatest opening day to the season as Martin Olsson saw red and they returned from a tricky away tie at Wolves pointless. Until the red card the game was tight and could have gone either way but that was a huge turning point. Home form could be massive factor this season as they picked up just 9 points on the road last season. Watford have started the season well with a 3-0 home win over Bolton and knocked Stevenage out of the Cup. Norwich will present a much sterner test and the Canaries squad does have lots of quality. They will be desperate to bounce back here and should get their season underway.

Bristol City to Beat Colchester 4/6:

Two picks from League One now starting with Bristol City. They shocked Brammall Lane on the opening day with a 2-1 away win and looked very confident in doing so. They did go out of the cup on Tuesday but the league is almost certainly their priority. They ended the season 7 unbeaten at home and will want to carry on that impressive form. Colchester could only manage a point at home to Oldham in their opener and were thrashed 4-0 by Charlton in their Capital One Cup game. Their last ten away games last season saw 7 defeats and promotion hopefuls City should pick up 3 points.

Doncaster to beat Port Vale 10/11:

Doncaster have responded to relegation last season in the perfect way with back to back wins. An impressive performance saw them beat Yeovil 3-0 before they knocked York out of the Cup on Tuesday. They now play their first home game of the season where they will want to carry on this form. Port Vale picked up just a point on day one at home to Walsall. A 6-2 victory over Hartlepool is impressive from the Cup but they are expected to struggle in League One. They have yet to win away from home in the League in 2014, and Doncaster should have too much quality here.
