Bosnia Herzegovina vs Iran betting tips and predictions for Wednesday’s World Cup match with score predictions and free football tips.
Salvador, the setting for Wednesday's showdown between Bosnia and Iran, is the place to be for goals this World Cup. 17 have been scored in three games there so far; the arena where Spain imploded against the Dutch, Portugal humiliated by the Germans and where France crushed Switzerland in the tournament’s highest scoring game yet. Will Group F's concluding match continue the trend?

It's hard to imagine it will at this stage with the nations entering the game with one goal as their combined total so far, but not for the good of trying. Both sides created significantly more, and better, chances in their second matches but both fell short once again – Iran undone by a stoppage time touch of genius by Lionel Messi despite a brave performance against one of the tournament favourites, and Bosnia had a legitimate goal ruled out for offside before squandering great, late chances as they slumped to a 1-0 defeat to Nigeria, eliminating them from the competition.
Safet Susic may now, with nothing to lose, switch back to his favoured midfield diamond that allows the Bosnians to attack more freely with Edin Dzeko no longer the lone striker, partnered from the off with Vedad Ibisevic – the scorer of Bosnia's single and only ever World Cup goal. Dzeko was unfortunate not to claim the first goal last time out when it was wrongly ruled out for offside so for our first Bosnia v Iran prediction we are backing Dzeko to score first at 9/2 with Paddy Power.
This more attacking Bosnia-Herzegovina could also play into the hands of Iran who need a win to give themselves any chance of progressing to the second round; Bosnia pushing in attack for their first ever World Cup points would leave them exposed to the Iranian counter that came so close to helping them cause a major upset against Argentina. Iran will need a favour from the Group F leaders but they then must also claim a second ever victory in the World Cup finals and a first since 1998.
Back in 1992 before they were a FIFA member, Bosnia played Iran in their first ever, unofficial, match against another nation and won 3-1. In five 'official' meetings since, the Bosnians have never won, but how they would love for a replica of that 1992 result on Wednesday to cap off a harsh introduction to the World Cup finals that would also seal Iran's fate in failing to make it past the first round in each of their four attempts.
If the game starts slowly, don't fear; 11 of the last 12 goals that Iran have conceded at the World Cup have come in the second half, so maybe that will be the opportunity for Bosnia to pounce as the game wears on and for our next Bosnia-Herzegovina vs Iran betting tip we are betting on the half-time score to be 0-0 at 7/4 with William Hill.
Either way, expect end-to-end action, expect Salvador to bring out the goals and expect Dzeko to finally take one of his chances. This is very close to call considering the situation of both, but, if the game is still goalless in the latter stages, don't be surprised to see Iran nick a goal and hold out for the win.
