Verona to beat Catania 11:30am

This is the one I was wary of in the treble. We are trusting the integrity & desire of a side in mid-table in Serie A against a side bottom of the league and fighting for their lives. With Verona odds against in places though, it is a gamble worth taking. The home team have enjoyed a fine season and currently sit 9th and are in good form, wining 3 in 4 including an impressive win at Atalanta last week. They have won 9 games at home this season, scoring 29 goals in doing so. Catania are 5 points adrift do safety with just 4 games to go so they will surely have to go for the win which will leave them exposed. Their away record is dreadful, losing 15 and drawing the other 2 of their 17 games this season. They have only scored 7 in those games, whilst conceding 36. Verona should have more than enough quality, if they are willing to put the effort in.

Liverpool to beat Chelsea HT/FT 2:30pm

I've gone for the juicier odds of Liverpool to be leading Chelsea at half time and full time in the game this Sunday with plenty of reasons. Even the least observant of football fans will have noticed that Liverpool have made a habit of making fast start and killing games off early in recent weeks. Having delved a bit deeper, I found that of the 15 home wins Liverpool have achieved this season, they have been leading at half time in every single one of those wins. When you compare the prices between backing Liverpool to win the game & the half time/full time market, it made this selection a no brainer. In addition if Jose Mourinho does field a second string tea as threatened, I'm not convinced personally, this would make Liverpool heavy favourites in the game, if they're not already. In front of a raucous home crowd, expect them to make another fast start.

Schalke to beat Gladbach 4:30pm

Only Bayern have a stronger home record than Schalke in the Bundesliga this season, as the Veltins arena has been turned into a bit of a fortress. Schalke have won 11 home games compared to just 2 losses. They have won 4 in a row on their own patch, scoring 11 goals in the process. They will have the incentive of knowing another victory on Sunday should secure their Champions league qualification for next season. They face a Gladbach team who were drubbed 4-2 at Freiburg last week and have a mediocre record on their travels this season. Gladbach also have a poor record at Schalke historically so I will be confident waiting on the home team to complete our treble.
