Saturday’s Football Accumulator Tip.
Chelsea to beat Crystal Palace:
Hot off the back of their 6-0 mauling of fellow Londoners Arsenal, the Blues confidence will certainly not be feeling as they’re nickname suggests but quite the opposite in fact. They’ve lost just one of their last 10 and if they really want this year’s trophy then this must be 3 points. Palace have picked up 3 points just once out of their last 6 at home and definitely aren’t safe yet. Pulis has really turned it around at Selhurst Park and a loss at Newcastle last week really wasn’t a fair result, but 3 points against Chelsea may be asking a little bit much.
West Brom to beat Cardiff:
It’s fair to say the 2013/14 campaign won’t be one to remember for Cardiff City fans. Deep in a relegation dogfight and add the sacking of a perfectly good manager by an owner who clearly knows nothing about the game we cherish. Is that modern football? Pepe Mel’s side on the other hand are just 3 points from the drop zone and a win would be a huge stride to safety. Cardiff’s away form has been nothing short of appalling, losing all of their last 6 away from the Cardiff City Stadium, whilst West Brom have lost just one of their previous 6 at home. Baggies fans should be confident of a win here and we are confident enough to add them to our accumulator tip.
Bournemouth to beat Birmingham:
Birmingham are in serious danger of joining the “freefallers’ club”. This is when a Premier League club is relegated and then just keeps on falling. Current members include Wolves and Portsmouth. They’re just 2 places from the drop zone and are looking really poor of late. All of their last six home games have ended in defeat. The Cherries lead a very different story. 4 wins in 6 away games and a brand new deal this week for much sought after young boss Eddie Howe tells me that this is Bournemouth’s to lose.
Derby to beat Charlton:
After Derby’s 5-0 demolition job of bitter rivals Nottingham Forest, Thanks to a superb Craig Bryson treble, The Rams’ confidence will be sky high. They hadn’t scored in 4 successive games previous to that, but they look to have turned that corner now. They know 2nd placed Burnley may be slightly out of reach, so for them it’ll just be about being top of those playoff places to get the easiest draw possible. Charlton on the other hand won’t have that leisure. New boss José Riga, has a win and a loss to his name and I’m afraid it could be a short yet painful journey home for Addicks fans.
Leyton Orient to beat Bradford City:
With just 1 win in 4, Orient really need to start winning football matches if they really crave that automatic promotion place. With just 3 home goals this month, they’re really not playing to their capabilities. Talisman David Mooney hasn’t hit the back of the net since the first of this month, and he really needs to find that rich vain of form he produced for The O’s earlier in the season, if they’re to have a chance of making that top 2 this season, but I reckon they’ll do well against a leaky Bradford side who’ve had a inconsistent first season in a league that’s known for being one of the most difficult to get out off around. My least sure of the 5 but one that really is a must win for Leyton Orient.
