Alan Pardew’s men head in to their game with West Brom on Saturday off the back of three straight wins, including impressive performances against Tottenham and Chelsea. West Brom will be keen to get back to winning ways having drawn four of their last six. Steve Clarke’s side let slip a two goal lead against midlands rivals Aston Villa on Monday night, so he will be looking for a response from his men. 

After a fairly shaky start to the season, The Magpies seem to be settling in to some form, and will want to continue their impressive run on Saturday. Loic Remy has eight in his last eight league games, and has been the driving force behind Newcastle’s rise up the league table. Clarke will be disappointed with his side’s second half display last time out against Villa, and will be hoping Shane Long can find the back of the net for the third successive game.

In the last eight meetings between these two sides in the league, neither side has a kept a clean sheet, and since the Premier League started, there have been no fewer than 49 goals in 14 matches. The Baggies alone have scored seven and conceded eight in their previous four games.
