Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard finally gets his testimonial after nearly 15 years, 628 appearences and 159 goals against Olympiakos.

In a game that will be treated as a pre season friendly in preparation for the start of the season, both teams will be wanting a good run out with the new season fast approaching. Everyone’s favourite Uruguayan Luis Suarez should play some part if he still is at the club that is with Arsenal still very much interested in signing him.

You can’t read too much into pre season friendlies but Liverpool have had a very good one so far, yes they haven’t had the most challenging of games against Preston (W4-0), Indonesia (W2-0), Melbourne Victory (W2-0) and Thailand (W3-0) but four wins, 11 goals and none conceded is pretty solid in my book.

Olympiakos haven’t been so solid. They have played five pre season games, winning one game against Azerbaijan side Simurq, they then went to Germany and lost two and drew two.

I’m fully expecting a Liverpool win and I wouldn’t be surprised if Liverpool pick up another clean sheet too. Unfortunately odds weren’t available at the time of writing this but these will be my best bets…
