Robin Van Persie – Best Price 4/1 (Paddy Power): 

Van Persie has managed 56 goals over the last two campaigns and picked up the award in both of them seasons. He is the clear favourite for the award and probably rightly so. The price is short but to be honest Van Persie probably will win it barring any injury or long lay off. He has won the award in two different teams and no matter who is in charge he will score goals. Alan Shearer and Thierry Henry have both won the award three times in a row and I really can see RVP joining them with that prestigious honour.

Theo Walcott: Best Price 40/1 (Bet Victor): 

One of the most surprising ones for me was the odds on Theo Walcott to take the award. Walcott managed 14 goals last season, his best ever tally and appears to be on the up. He managed three in his last four at the end of last season. His steady improvement paired with Wenger’s reluctance to play him through the middle loosening means this looks like a big price. Bearing in mind Bet Victor are offering E/W at ¼ for the first four places, that could be the way to go, 10/1 for Walcott to be in the top four goalscorers is really really good value, especially if he gets his chances through the middle again this season.

Romelu Lukaku: Best Price 33/1 (Bet365): 

One of the Premier League’s surprise packages last season was Romelu Lukaku. He managed 17 goals for West Brom on loan from Chelsea. His impressive form has made it hard for Mourinho to ignore the big Belgian. With Torres and Ba misfiring and no striker yet through the door, plus Mourinho saying Lukaku will be apart of his plans next season he could be worth an each-way punt. With a higher calibre of player around him, who knows how Lukaku could do. However, bet on Lukaku with caution, if Chelsea invest in a new striker, don’t expect him to be first choice which will hugely damage his chances.
