Liverpool v Everton Preview and Betting Tips

Liverpool betting Sturridge.jpg

This Sunday sees Everton make the 500yard trip across Stanley park in Liverpool to face the reds at Anfield, in what is bound to be an emotional Merseyside derby as it will be Jamie Carraghers last one as a Liverpool player.

Liverpool are unbeaten in 5 games, although 3 of these were draws including 2 0-0's however these results will have been forgotten by the Anfield faithful following there 6-0 demolition of Newcastle at St James park last Saturday. In what was their first game without the suspended Suarez they hardly missed him, so this will give Liverpool a massive boost and fill the likes of Sturridge, Henderson, Coutinho with confidence.

Everton have had a fantastic season so far, pushing for champions league, although this may be beyond them now but they are well in the frame for a Europa League spot. Everton have only lost 1 of their last 7 winning 4 and drawing 2. They have only conceded 3 goals in these 7 games and have scored 8. Everton are currently 5 points clear of Liverpool and will be desperate to finish above them. However Liverpool will also be just as desperate to not let that happen and retain the bragging rights of Merseyside themselves. For this to happen this season Liverpool must win on Sunday.

Everton have been monsters for both teams to score this season. Although at 7/10 with BetVictor is isn't the best value. This fixture in particular is usually full of goals, the last 3 fixtures have seen over 2.5 goals scored and 3 of the last 5 games both teams have scored. I cannot see this being a tight game at all, for all the reasons stated above this will be a full throttle game at Anfield. It will be a very tasty encounter and I think with all the added incentives for the red I fancy them to just nick it.

I think with Sturridge being full of confidence, backing him as an anytime scorer is good value with Bwin at 7/5, backing over 2.5 goals at 5/6 with Bet Victor, should be safe or over 3.5 goals at 11/5 also with BetVictor, to me represents really good value. I also believe a good market for this game is Liverpool to score in both halves at 2/1 with William hill.
