After a week of internationals, finally the Premier League returns for this long Easter weekend. One of the stand out ties comes from Craven Cottage on Monday night where Fulham host London rivals Queens Park Rangers.
On paper, Fulham sitting in 10th position with home advantage, facing a QPR side who sit bottom of the table and facing another relegation fight, this should be an easy 3 points for the home side, however I expect it to be a much tighter affair.
QPR's last game was a 3-2 defeat to Aston Villa, QPR played very well that day and just came up against a Villa side that showed a lot of fight and put in one of there better performances of the season, if they had come up against the Villa side that we have seen numerous times this season they could of easily took 3 points back to London with them. Since Harry Redknapp has taken charge of the side, QPR have improved greatly, his first victory as QPR manager came against Fulham back in December at Loftus Road, they've won 4 games since then, including 2 wins in March, firstly away at Southampton and a home win against Sunderland, but they've also picked up draws away at West Ham and at home against current Premiership champions Man City, Tottenham and Norwich. When you look back at the opening game of the season where QPR were beaten 5-0 at home to Swansea, you can see how much they've improved since.
Fulham also come into this game in good form, before the international break they beat Tottenham 1-0 away from home, it is likely that they will be fielding the same side in this fixture, a side that includes Dimitar Berbatov who has scored 4 goals in his last 5 games. In this fixture last season they also beat QPR 6-0.
Both sides here will be looking to take 3 points from this game and neither will be happy with a draw. Fulham will want to build on there great performance against Tottenham and QPR will be desperate for 3 points in a 'winnable' game. I think we can expect to see plenty of goals in this tie and that is where our main selections will be based. In QPR's last 3 away games there have been over 2.5 goals, and they have also scored at least 2 goals in there last 3 matches.
