Watford vs. Derby – 3pm – 23.2.13 – 8/13
At the moment it is almost criminal not to put Watford on your Over 2.5 goals bet with only 2 of their last 9 matches ending with last than the required 3 goals. And with 7 wins in their last 7 Saturday league matches you’d have to fancy Watford to punish Derby this weekend, a side who haven’t won in 4 and conceded 2 in both away games they’ve played in this period. Watford’s attack force has been in fine form of late, scoring 13 in their last 6 matches, and whilst the Derby defence hasn’t been exceptionally bad (8 in 6) they face the joint most in form forward line in the league. Watford on their own should provide us with the 3 goals we want from this tie.
Peterborough vs. Birmingham – 3pm – 23.2.13 – 8/13
Peterborough host Birmingham this weekend as both teams look to try and find some form as relegation looms for the home side and safety is just within the grasps of the visitors. Peterborough’s defence has been doing all it can recently to undo the good work of their strike force, having conceded 10 goals in their last 6 whilst their strikers have found the net 11 times. However this is good news for us in our search for goals. Birmingham’s defence also makes this fixture stand out in the list, with Tuesday’s match against Sheff Wed being the first game in 20 that Birmingham didn’t concede, and that was against a Sheff Wed side that have been almost toothless away from home of late.
Brentford vs. Walsall – 3pm – 23.2.13 – 8/11
With their cup dreams over for another year, Brentford return to league action this weekend when they host Walsall as they look to push themselves back into the playoff zone in one of the closest leagues you’ll find, but they’ll face a real test in their visitors. Walsall have scored 12 in their last 6 games, showing they’re in fine attacking form currently, though their defence does have a lot to answer for, conceding 7 in the same stretch of games, but this is good news for us. Brentford’s defence has been poor of late in conceding 13 in 6 (though 4 come courtesy of Chelsea last week) and could see Walsall find the net on more than one occasion when they visit Griffin Park. Should Walsall pick up points here they’ll only be 2 points off the playoff places, a prime position at this stage of the season, and expect them to really take the game to a Brentford side who have won once in their last 6 matches.
