Headliner grabber John Obi Mikel also returns, despite no one noticing he'd gone. A full squad is a rare luxury, but should 'Rafa' rotate and fail, he'll be on the first flight to Spain. With that in mind, expect another man who is looking at outbound Spanish flights, Fernando Torres to start in attack.

The reputation alone should strike the fear of god into an anonymous Brentford back line. Putting faith in Torres won't have made you much money in the past two years, but by the 'he's due' logic, surely opening the scoring here seems sensible; Ladbrokes will give 100/30 on him doing so. Goalscorer in the first match and in midweek, Oscar, is far better value at 7/1 and the likeliest attacking midfielder to start.

Brentford on the other hand have little but pride and cash to play for. Keep the score in single digits and the TV cash in five digits and it's a good day out for the Bees. Their first scorer options don't start until 14/1, and the bookies aren't usually wrong. For optimistic fans, a draw at half time at 13/5 with BoyleSports looks the most appealing, but money might be better spent on the London beer prices.
