Everton vs Arsenal predictions and football betting tips for this midweek Premier League clash. Our tipster has picked out two bets for the match.
There is a full schedule of Premier League fixtures in midweek and one of the stand out games is at Goodison Park where Everton face Arsenal on Tuesday night. Here are some tips and predictions for the game live on BT sport.
Everton
Everton come into this game with only one win in their last ten games and this has heaped pressure on Ronald Koeman after such a positive start. They are still in 9th place in the table which isn’t bad but they were in the top four in early September and dreaming of Europe but this is a distant dream now. Ross Barkley has been left on the bench in recent weeks as the Everton boss has said that he expects more from him when he does play but this can be said about most of the attacking players bar frontman Romelu Lukaku. I think that the toffees rely too heavily on his goals and when he isn’t on top form they have no plan B and this is where they have come up short in recent weeks. With the Belgian bagging two goals at the weekend, he will be hopeful that he can score again but can they stop this impressive Arsenal team from scoring? I doubt it.
Arsenal
Arsenal are absolutely flying in the league at the moment and ended Saturday at the top of the league and as you would expect they are playing very attractive football. Alexis Sanchez has been impressive in the striker role this season and both he and Mesut Ozil are in cracking form at the moment and one if not both of them contribute in every game with an assist or a goal. They are still having issues defensively and have not kept a clean sheet since the 25th October when they beat Reading 2-0 in the league cup and this will worry Arsene Wenger as he knows that soon this will catch up on them and they won’t be able to outscore teams every week.
Everton vs Arsenal Predictions
My first Everton vs Arsenal betting tip in this game is going to be in the goals market as I think we will see plenty on Tuesday. Both sides are very capable of bagging a couple of goals each and both sides are struggling to keep a clean sheet lately so I think it will be an end-to-end game with lots of goalmouth action and I think over 3.5 goals looks a great bet at 2/1 with William Hill and I will be backing this.
Over 3.5 goals – 2/1 with William Hill – BET.
My second Everton vs Arsenal prediction is going to be for Romelu Lukaku to score the first goal for Everton. As I mentioned earlier, I believe that Everton rely too heavily on Lukaku’s goals and they would be a lot further down the table if it wasn’t for him and I expect him to be their biggest threat against Arsenal. I don’t think Arsenal will keep a clean sheet and Lukaku is the man most likely to score past Petr Cech so I will be backing Lukaku to be the first Everton goal scorer which is 5/2 at Sky Bet.
Lukaku to score first for Everton – 5/2 with Sky Bet: BET.
Everton vs Arsenal Team News
Everton have no fresh injury concerns ahead of this game but Yannick Bolasie is out for the season with a knee injury and Muhamed Besic won’t return until the New Year after he suffered the same sort of injury earlier this year. As for Arsenal, summer signing Shkodran Mustafi will be out until the New Year as he suffered an injury in the 3-1 victory over Stoke at the weekend and the Gunners will also be without long term absentees Per Mertesacker, Danny Welbeck and Santi Carzola who are all out until 2017 as well.
Everton vs Arsenal Head to Head
Arsenal won both games when these two sides met in the league last season including a 2-0 win at Goodison Park in March. Everton have only beaten Arsenal in the league once since 2007 and there won’t be many people thinking that the trend will change on Tuesday night.
Everton vs Arsenal Betting Odds
Arsenal are favourites for this game and rightly so considering both sides form and they are best priced 10/11 for the win with Sky Bet. The draw is best priced 13/5 with Coral and if you think that Everton will inflict Arsenal’s first league defeat since the opening day of the season then this is 10/3 with Bet365. Both sides haven’t kept a clean sheet in over a month so both teams to score looks a banker to me at 4/6 and could beef up your midweek acca.
