Lincoln vs Oldham Predictions, Betting Tips and Preview

Lincoln vs Oldham predictions and betting tips for tonight’s FA Cup fixture with the best odds and reasons for each bet tip selected by our tipster.

There’s one final FA Cup game this weekend as League One Oldham travel to Sincil Bank to face Lincoln. We’ve got the best three bets for the match.

It’s been a difficult season for Stephen Robinson at Oldham so far. With few players on their books, the new coach came in and needed to recruit. In came a mixture of League One veterans and untested players at this level and Robinson was forced to blend them quickly and successfully. Marshalled by Peter Clarke at the back, they have been tough to break down and they can be miserly at the back, but lack goals. 21 goals conceded all season is the lowest in the bottom half of the division yet 11 goals scored is the lowest in the league and the reason why they find themselves second bottom. They’ve netted just twice in five league games and are struggling to find a regular source of goals. Ryan Flynn has added a couple from midfield whilst Freddie Lapado has grabbed a couple, including crucial goals against leaders Scunthorpe. The likes of Lee Erwin and Billy McKay haven’t found their shooting boots yet. Robinson described this game as ‘Huge’ and proffered it could be a turning of their season. Lincoln will fancy their chances in this game and hope to reach the third round of the competition. They are flying in the National League and currently sit 1 point behind leaders Tranmere. They grabbed a 1-0 win over Wrexham in midweek despite going down to 10 men. They are undefeated since September and manager Danny Cowley has made them tough to beat. The former Braintree manager has been terrific since taking over and has a bright future in management. He’s got the best out of his side so far (ably assisted by his brother) and at home they’ve conceded just six goals in 13 games.

Lincoln vs Oldham Predictions

Lincoln vs Oldham Team News

Lincoln must do without Sean Raggett who was dismissed against Wrexham in midweek. He will be a loss in the heart of the defence, but Cowley has said he won’t sign another defender before this match. He will partner Jamie McCombe and Luke Waterfall at the back. Elliott Whitehouse will not be able to play any part in this game either.

Marc Klok is the only definite absentee for the visitors. Paul Green has been out, but has returned to light training this week and should be able to play some part.

Lincoln vs Oldham Head to Head

These two sides haven’t met since 1998 when both were in League One. Oldham won 3-1 at Sincil Bank that season. They were also victorious at Boundary Park.

Lincoln and Oldham are quite evenly priced for this match. The hosts can be backed at 9/5 with the away side around 13/8. There have already been a fair few draws in this competition this weekend and it is 5/2 for it to end level.
