Twitter reacts as a legend of the modern game finally calls it a day…

When it comes to compiling​ a list of Premier League legends who have sought to entertain and succeed among the English top-flight in equal measure of late – Steven Gerrard simply has to be high up there. The former Liverpool favourite has finally decided to hang up his boots on what has undoubtedly proven a fantastic career, filled with a whole manner of memorable outings and impressive individual accolades.

 

Whether it be for producing several world class displays among the Premier League on countless different occasions, or simply wearing his shirt with pride every single time he stepped out on the pitch at Anfield no matter how much the odds were against him and his team – this is one player who will certainly live on in the memories of those who were lucky enough to see him play, as well as perhaps several future generations to come.
