Although Claudio Ranieri’s triumphant Leicester City outfit were nonetheless offered something of an ‘easy’ run of opponents among the Champions League group-stages this season, no one could accuse the ever determined Foxes of failing to take their historic European duties seriously in 2016/17.
With a maximum nine points taken from their opening three Champions League fixtures in-fact – against the likes of Club Brugge, FC Porto and FC Copenhagen respectively – Leicester City deserve all the relevant credit they can get right in the here and now, with dreams of making it all the way to the Champions League final still within reach for Claudio Ranieri’s boys in blue.
Leicester’s recent rise towards the upper echelons of the European game has certainly served to put a few well-placed smiles on the faces of many Foxes fans of late…
Seeing my dads face light up when Mahrez scored last night was actually amazing, 50 years of Leicester and he finally sees a UCL goal ?

…yet whilst everything seems to be going rather well for Claudio Ranieri’s team in the Champions League this term…
Forget about their league form, Leicester City are riding high in Europe. Full 9 points after 3 games in their Champions League debut season

…the Foxes’ league form simply hasn’t been all that inspiring in 2016/17 to say the very least…

That said, Leicester’s recent stats in Europe certainly make decent reading for all the jubilant Foxes fans out there…
Leicester 100% start, conceded 0.
Who says they can't go all the way?
— STEEV (@stephenoflyf) 18 October 2016
…and whilst the team’s collective tactics clearly aren’t as easy on the eye as the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich…
Imagine Leicester parking the bus all the way to winning the Champions League in Cardiff, madness.
— Victor (@FutboIVictor) 19 October 2016
…perhaps they really could go all the way this season after all…
Leicester not bothering with the Premier League this year. They're just going to win the Champions League.
— Danny Cohen (@DannyCohen) 18 October 2016
So although not every Premier League onlooker seems to be the biggest fan of the Foxes right in the here and now…
Bit annoying that Leicester got one of the easiest groups of all time in their first CL season
— Craig (@Muscielny) 18 October 2016
…it seems as if Leicester City have only really just about got started upon the once unthinkable Champions League stage…
Leicester will get the furthest in the UCL out of all the English teams
