Matches against Romania, Albania and Switzerland shouldn’t pose any problems and France’s goalscoring ability in a poor group should see them stroll through the group. Albania and Romania are defensivly sound but France’s attack will be too strong and Switzerland proved in qualifying they are no match for Europe’s top teams when they were comfortably seen off by England twice.

2. Giroud to be France top goalscorer – 4/1 bet365
Antoine Griezmann is the 2/1 favourite to be France top scorer but this next Euro 2016 betting tip is based on the fact that Giroud normally starts through the middle with Griezmann out wide. There is a slight risk with this bet in that Giroud might not start or play the 90 minutes many times, however he scores a lot of goals for his country and ended the season strongly with Arsenal. Giroud has scored five goals in his last six matches for France so he is certainly good value to be their top scorer, especially given that he should play through the middle against some weak opponents in Euro 2016 Group A.

3. Stage of elimination semi-final – 9/2 Bet Victor
As mentioned, I don’t think France will win Euro 2016 because of their weak defense and when they come up against a real world class attacking team it could be their undoing. If France and Germany both win their groups then they will meet in the semi-final and this is where I expect the French challenge to end.
