Jermaine Defoe has actually been mentioned for a late England call up due to his impressive goal scoring this season for a struggling Sunderland side. 13 goals so far is pretty impressive for a team who have only found the net 39 times. A third of the team’s goals come from the 33-year-old. My second Premier League prediction is going to be Jermaine Defoe to score first. I think this is a good priced single considering Stoke have been struggling to keep goals out, especially since the loss of Butland due to injury.

I think that despite Sunderland’s impressive defensive record of late, Stoke should find the back of the net with the talent they have in the final third.
