Football Tips for a BTTS Bet this Weekend
AFC Wimbledon v Oxford United Both Teams to Score
Our first pick for Saturday’s BTTS accumulator tip takes us to Milton Keynes and the clash between fifth placed Wimbledon and third placed Oxford. Both teams have impressive scoring ratios in League Two, with each side averaging 1.8 goals per game over their last 20 games in the League. The Dons have home advantage on Saturday, and with a seven-point gap to Oxford, albeit with a game in hand, Wimbledon need to push for the points in order to grab an automatic promotion spot. Three of The Dons’ last four League matches have finished as BTTS winners, whereas four of Oxford’s last five have seen goals for either side. With promotion on the line, and confident free scoring attacks on either side, goals are highly likely at Stadium MK on Saturday.
Colchester v Shrewsbury Both Teams to Score
It's safe to say that Colchester are having a pretty dismal season by anyone’s standard. They remain rooted to the bottom of League One and a massive 10 points from safety. However, their attack is definitely not to blame, scoring just two fewer than League leaders Burton Albion. It's defence where they have all their problems, conceding a staggering 78 goals in just 32 games. When Colchester lose, they lose badly, but they do almost always seem to score! Shrewsbury come into the clash off the back of an anti-climactic FA Cup defeat to Manchester United, and it's back to the reality of their relegation scrap. The Shrews occupy 21st place, but they are level on 33 points with Fleetwood above them. Shrewsbury have played out six BTTS winners in their last seven games on the road, and coupled with Colchester’s record of nine BTTS winners out of 10 at home, it's safe to say that this League One relegation battle will produce goals for either side.
Burton Albion v Walsall Both Teams to Score
It's first against fourth in League One as leaders Burton take on the mighty Walsall. Albion slipped up last week as they succumbed to a 3-1 defeat away to seventh placed Southend. Saturday’s opponents, Walsall, also lost in their last outing, falling to Wigan in a 2-1 home defeat. It's safe to say that both teams need to boost their promotion chances with a win, and judging by their respective scoring records, I think Saturday’s top of the table clash should produce goals for either side and our both teams to score tip. Walsall have played out six BTTS winners in their last seven in the league, whereas three of Burton’s last four have produced goals for either team. Both sides have undoubted quality, and I'm expecting this to translate into goals on Saturday.
Morecambe v Carlisle Both Teams to Score
We end Saturday’s football tip for a BTTS accumulator with one of my regular BTTS picks, Morecambe. The Shrimps have an unrivalled record of BTTS winners that stretches back to January 12th, a run of 9 consecutive games. 18th placed Morecambe come up against 12th placed Carlisle, and despite the Cumbrian’s mediocre recent scoring record, I still think Morecambe’s unprecedented BTTS record will stretch into the double figures on Saturday. Carlisle have 47 goals from their 32 games, which is the same ratio as second placed Plymouth, but they have struggled to find the net lately – scoring just twice in their last three outings. I think that when faced with an exceedingly generous Morecambe defence, Carlisle will find their shooting boots again.
