What comes next for Aston Villa and their fans?

What does the future hold for Aston Villa and their fans?

Despite ending the 2014/15 campaign on a wave of fresh hope under the newly installed figure of Tim Sherwood down in the Villa Park dug-out, Aston Villa have quite clearly failed to do their fans justice throughout the current season thus far.

Although no team can seemingly be written off until they are mathematically incapable of guaranteeing their Premier League survival, Remi Garde’s outfit simply look as good as gone with everything fairly taken into account – which is something that arguably even came into play before the 49-year-old French tactician first took over at the struggling Midlands club back in November of last year.

So then, whilst much of the 2015/16 campaign still remains to be decided right in the here and now – are the many frustrated Villa fans out their now slowly starting to accept their club’s current predicament at the foot of the Premer League table, or is a dramatic escape route still on offer for Aston Villa in this – albeit rather trepidatious – stage in their season?

Well, although Aston Villa did in-fact land themselves several promising names throughout the duration of the summer transfer window, the Villa Park faithful simply haven’t found a great deal to smile about this term to say the very least…

Remi Garde’s side have subsequently been criticised rather heavily across large portions of the 2015/16 campaign so far…

…and for good reason as well!

Villa defender, Joleon Lescott, has nonetheless landed himself in hot water after some – let’s say poorly timed – social media posts became the subject of great discussion in and around the Aston Villa community…

…even though matters such as this one are largely overstated nine times out of ten…

Aston Vila have been very poor this season however, both individually and collectively, and represent an outfit seemingly doomed to relegation in the cold light of day…

The team have shown few signs of any meaningful promise since the very first day of the season truth be told…

…and although the current Aston Villa boss is still somehow managing to put on a brave face week in week out

…the Premier League has arguably never witnessed a side so lacking in fight and determination to put things right in many a season now…

Aston Villa ultimately seem little more than doomed at the end of the day, but hopefully the Villa Park faithful will eventually find something to restore their passionate love for their club in the not too distant future…
