Mauricio Pochettino has had a bit of a juggling game this week with a trip to Italy to face Fiorentina in the Europa League and then just three days later hosting Crystal Palace in the FA Cup. He has a good depth to his squad and I expect at least 16 players to be used over the two games to keep his team fresh and raring to go.

 

Alan Pardew on the other hand has no such worries, and has had all week to prepare for this match in what has become their most important game this season. They have seriously dropped off the pace in the Premier League from 5^th down to mid-table now, and the FA Cup now provides them with their only likely route to European football and silverware.

 

Spurs fans are desperate for silverware, and apart from the League Cup a few years ago, they’ve had nothing but disappointment. As important as the league is for Spurs, I do think Pochettino will show great respect to this competition, especially as if they get through this match they are just one win from Wembley. Normally, with their defence being so strong and Palace being so blunt in attack since Christmas, I would have said Spurs would win to nil. However with there likely to be changes, coupled with the face they played Thursday night, it’s very likely that Palace will expect to score a goal.

My second bet tip for the match is for Spurs to score in both halves. Spurs are usually excellent in both halves of matches, and don’t tend to drop off towards the latter stages of games like many of their opponents seem to. They start well and are competitive for the full 90 mins, which means Crystal Palace cannot drop off at any stage.
