Jurgen Klopp saw his team scrape past Stoke in their League Cup semi-final midweek, despite losing the match 1-0, they hung on to a 1-1 aggregate score line to eventually nick the game on penalties.

Stoke were mightily unlucky to lose the tie, and the tight nature of the match at Anfield shows just how closed the gap is becoming between Liverpool and the second tier of Premiership teams. Klopp will no doubt strengthen the squad in the summer, and without the injured Coutinho, the Reds look pedestrian, lacking in creativity, and ripe for the taking more often than not.
