Crystal Palace and Chelsea to draw – 23/10

An intriguing encounter at Selhurst Park on Sunday sees Crystal Palace host Chelsea, with the home side a whopping 11 points and nine places higher than the reigning Premier League champions coming into this one. Palace have been one of the surprise packages this term, and have emerged as contenders for a European place thanks to nine victories from the first 19 games. Unbeaten in over a month, they’ve managed two wins and three draws in their last five, propelling them to fifth place. And it would be no surprise to see them pick up another draw here.

Chelsea have also drawn their last two matches, with a goalless draw at Old Trafford following a home draw with Watford. Gus Hiddink’s arrival seems to have stopped the unwanted run of defeats that has already seen them beaten nine times in the league this term, however they have only managed five victories; having drawn the same amount. Palace has become a difficult place for any side to win over this past year, and given both team’s current form, another draw looks the value bet here, and a result that both sides would arguably settle for.

Everton and Tottenham to draw – 5/2

Another close looking encounter follows on Super Sunday, this time involving Everton and Tottenham who meet at Goodison Park. Everton come into this one seemingly under performing judging by their league position of 11th, however they have been playing some decent stuff of late, with plenty of goals to go with it. It’s their defensive record that has cost them however, losing their last two home games 4-3 and 3-2 to Stoke and Leicester respectively. They’ve already racked up eight draws from 19 league games; a league high which they share with Spurs and West Ham, and with this in mind it’s hard to oppose another one here.

Spurs arrive here with some people beginning to talk about them as possible title contenders thanks to three successive victories. They sit in fourth place, just four points off league leaders Arsenal and boasting the best goal difference in the league. They’ve proven difficult to beat with just two defeats all season, and also have eight draws to their name thus far, four of which have come on the road. In a game that could go either way, again it could prove worthwhile to back each side to take a point, and make it nine draws a piece for the two sides involved.

Real Madrid to beat Valencia – 11/20

The pick of the games in La Liga this Sunday sees Real Madrid travel to Valencia looking to keep the pace with co-leaders Barcelona and Atletico Madrid. Real returned from the Christmas break and a 10-2 thrashing of Rayo Vallecano with another home victory; overcoming a spirited Real Sociedad 3-1 on Wednesday. They are the highest scorers in the division and despite sitting just two points off the top, know they can’t afford too many slip ups if they are to remain in contention for the title. Having lost two of their last three away games, they will be keen to improve on a disappointing recent away record, but should have enough quality to overcome an inconsistent Valencia side.

The hosts find themselves down in 10th position, and have failed to win any of their last five matches, picking up four draws along the way, leaving them nine points off the top four already. They are yet to be defeated at home, however have only won three of eight, with three successive draws. They may well prove difficult to beat once again, but given their failure to pick up three points of late, it could be worth taking a chance on the visitors to win here, as Rafa Benitez returns to his former club.
