Yet again Chelsea’s League revival has been cut short. Mourinho’s team seemed to have found a brief glimmer of form as they saw off Norwich and managed a creditable draw against high flying Spurs, but defeat to Bournemouth last weekend put them firmly back in the doldrums.

 

Despite qualifying for the knockout stages of the Champions League thanks to a comfortable 2-0 victory over FC Porto, Chelsea’s League form is still completely erratic. Leicester are currently playing without fear, scoring for fun, and you'd have to make Ranieri’s side the favourites going into this clash, however the bookies currently have Chelsea at best odds 7/5 (Sky Bet) to win.

 

Leicester have the chance to go top with a win, and it's going to be a tough task trying to predict when their form will run out of steam. We saw it with Southampton last year – usually when lower rated teams perform above expectations in the first half of the season, their form peters out and they inevitably end up finishing around the Europa League spots.

 

However, Ranieri’s side are still playing fantastically and are full of confidence. A 1-1 draw against Man United last weekend was probably a fair result, but City could easily have snatched all three points. Recent wins against Swansea, Watford and Newcastle have all been comfortable, and there are no signs yet of Leicester’s fine form coming to a halt.

 

Leicester have only faced two of the so-called big teams this season; and they lost emphatically against Arsenal – by a scoreline of 2-5 – but managed a hard fought draw against Man United.

 

So, can Leicester continue their form against an erratic and underperforming Chelsea side on tonight? The atmosphere against United was fantastic, and you'd have to expect the City faithful to be equally as lively for the visit of the Champions.
