Liverpool to beat Crystal Palace

The Merseysiders welcome Crystal Palace to Anfield this weekend, a side that are clearly growing in confidence under their new manager and looking to extend their unbeaten run to seven matches since his arrival. Their 3-1 win at Stamford Bridge last week was mightily impressive; particularly after going behind early on, and the victory should have inspired plenty of confidence heading into this one. Palace have been left frustrated over recent weeks, they suffered defeats to Leicester and West Ham and find themselves in mid table with five wins and five losses after 11 games.

 

Barcelona to beat Villarreal

Barcelona will be looking to keep the pressure on Real Madrid at the top of La Liga, with both sides level on 24 points coming into the weekend. The Catalan giants have won eight of 10 matches thus far, and are firm favourites to extend their perfect home record as they welcome Villarreal to the Nou Camp. Barca are five from five on their own patch, scoring an average of three a game, and despite the absence of Lionel Messi; have plenty of firepower in the side with Neymar and Luis Saurez in free scoring form.

 

Villarreal have slipped to fifth place after winning just one of their last four matches; that coming last weekend with a 2-1 home victory over Sevilla, off the back of a draw and two defeats.

 

Borussia Dortmund to beat Schalke

The pick of the games from the Bundesliga sees fierce rivals Dortmund and Schalke meet on Sunday, with the hosts looking to maintain their great start to the season. They been scoring goals for fun so far; notching up a staggering 68 already in just 22 games and sit in second place with eight wins, two draws and just one defeat in 11 league games. They remain unbeaten at home and are looking to make it four successive wins after defeating Werder Bremen 3-1 last weekend.

 

Schalke have made a decent start to the season also, and find themselves in fifth place; six points behind their rivals. They have however been frustrated in their previous two games as they lost 3-1 to Borussia Monchengladbach before a disappoiting 1-1 draw at home to Ingolstadt last time out. They have already lost three times this season; two of which came on the road, and this will certainly be a big test given the way their opponents are playing. With the firepower Dortmund possess and on current form; it's hard to look past another home win here.
