Man City travel to Spain on Tuesday, and despite flying high in the Premier League, they still seem to be conceding a few too many needless goals. Pellegrini has seen his side concede in 10 out of their last 11 in all competitions, and if it wasn’t for their fantastic attacking displays, City would probably have dropped more points than they have. In the Citizen’s last three Champions League games the result has been 2-1, including the previous game between these two sides.

 

Sevilla are not performing particularly well in La Liga at the moment, but they are getting on the score sheet frequently. The Spanish side have just three points from their opening three games in Group D, and if they have any plans on progressing to the knockout stages, they need to start grabbing the points. I expect the home side to come out of their shell and go for the win against a City side which has been inconsistent on its travels in Europe.

 

PSV v Wolfsburg – BTTS Yes

 

Bottom meets top in Group B and PSV desperately need to build on their opening day victory over Man United if they seriously want to progress to the knockout stages. The Dutch side suffered a 2-0 defeat away to Wolfsburg in their last match in the Champions League, but the way things have been going in the Group, this match should prove a lot closer in Holland. The Owls are buoyant following their emphatic Capital One Cup victory over Arsenal and are also started to make waves in the second tier and Carlos Carvahal’s team are just a point off the play off places and have five wins in their last seven.

 

Also, Chris Hughton has worked wonders with his Brighton team and I doubt many people expected them to be leading the way after 14 games. Despite both teams being in fantastic form, either side’s defence is far from impenetrable. Burnley have conceded in five of their last six, whereas Wednesday have conceded in five of their last seven.

 

Both team’s confidence is sky high at the moment, and I think that the visit of Brighton will be a real test of whether Wednesday have the mettle to challenge the top teams in the League for promotion.
