Two of the Championship's pre-season favourites for promotion meet on Sunday with both sides on a decent run of form. After a slow start Derby have picked things up in recent weeks and have won four of the last five. Their only defeat came back in August and they sit just outside the playoff places; one point behind Burnley. A 2-0 win over Brentford last time out saw them finally end their winless run at home, and with the form of Tom Ince and Chris Martin in attack, they look a decent bet to take another three points here.

 

Wolves have accumulated just two points fewer than their opponents, and are unbeaten themselves in four matches with two 3-0 wins in succession. They have been fairly inconsistent on their travels having dropped points to sides much lower in the table, which can be a worry; but their strike force means they will always prove a threat. They will certainly prove tough opposition for Derby this weekend, but I fancy the home side to edge it, and so they are the selection.

 

Atletico Madrid to beat Real Sociedad – 21/20

Atletico Madrid travel to Real Socieadad on Sunday; with a good opportunity to ensure they keep the pace with the sides in the top four. Currently fifth; they've not been as impressive as in recent seasons; but Diego Simeone's side are still just three points off the top of La Liga after an exciting start to the Spanish campaign. They've taken just a point from their last two games; albeit against the league's top two, but they have already picked up two wins on the road and should have more than enough to make it a third against a struggling Sociedad side.

 

The home team have managed just one win this season and sit level on points with the Levante in the relegation zone. They've also yet to win at home; failing to score in two of the three fixtures – form that certainly doesn't bode well as they welcome the 2013 La Liga champions.

 

Koln to beat Hannover – 10/11

Koln host Hannover in the Bundesliga looking to maintain their early season form that has them sitting in the European places at present. The fifth placed side have won four and lost just two of their eight games so far; including a memorable 3-0 win at Schalke before the international break. They've yet to lose at home with two wins and two draws apiece and will be full of confidence given their opponents poor start to the season.

 

Hannover sit second bottom in the league and have picked up just one win so far this season; with five defeats leaving them with just five points. Their first victory came prior to the international break, but their away form makes for grim reading. Two draws and two loses where they have scored just three times highlights their struggles thus far, and they will be hoping for a better performance this weekend. However, given the contrast in form of the two sides; Koln look a decent price to take the spoils.
