Leicester have continued this season where they left off the last and are sitting pretty in third place still unbeaten. Palermo to beat Carpi – 1/2

Palermo have made a perfect start to the new Serie A season with maximum points from their first two games. Consecutive 1-0 wins at home to Genoa and away at Udinese mean they are one of the early pace setters in the division, and they have a superb opportunity to extend their 100% record at home to one of the newly promoted sides this weekend.

 

Carpi have found it difficult since their arrival in Italy’s top flight, and have failed to pick up a point as of yet. An unfortunate 2-1 defeat to Inter in their last outing was a marked improvement on their opening day thrashing at Sampdoria where they shipped five goals, but the early signs aren’t too promising as they look to avoid relegation. And given the contrasting form of both sides, Palermo are taken to make it another difficult day for Carpi.

 

Athletic Bilbao to beat Getafe – 8/13

It may only be the third round of games in La Liga but already this match up between Bilbao and Getafe already looks to be an important one as both sides look for their first points of the season. Bilbao sit bottom of the table following a narrow home defeat to Barcelona and a 2-0 loss at Eibar, and will be eager to get back on track as they bid to reach the European places. Having blown Barca away in the Spanish Super Cup, they have already shown how dangerous they can be, and they should be able to give a better account of themselves this weekend.

 

Getafe are also looking to get on the board and sit just a place above Bilbao thanks to the solitary goal they scored in a 2-1 defeat to Granada. Their first away fixture saw them lose 1-0 to Espanyol and they will be keen to improve as soon as possible. We could well be in for a tight game here but the home side should have enough quality to get up and running and therefore Bilbao are the selection.

 

Celta Vigo to beat Las Palmas – 1/2 

Celta Vigo find themselves as the early leaders of La Liga after a great start to the season, winning both matches and conceding just once in the process. A narrow win at Levante was followed by a comprehensive 3-0 victory at home to Vallecano and they look good to extend this run as they welcome Las Palmas this weekend.

 

The visitors have just one point from their opening two games which came in a goalless draw to Levante last time out. They did put up a good account of themselves in a narrow defeat to Atletico Madrid on the opening day, but the fact they have yet to score is a worry. It looks like being a tough season for Las Palmas as they strive to stay in the division, and given the flying start made by their opponents; Celta Vigo are the selection in this one.
