Tonight’s Football Accumulator Tips:
Gibraltar v Ireland – Ireland to win.
A nice and easy start to get us off the mark, and if Ireland don’t beat Gibraltar, Martin O’Neill will be sacked before he even gets on the plane. Gibraltar have no points, one goal scored and a goal difference of -33 in all their qualifiers so far. This match should be an absolute shoe-in for the Irish. However, at ridiculously short odds of 1/25 you may ask why we’re including this in our acca, and the simple reason is to use up one of the selections in the promotion.
Germany v Poland – Germany to win.
World Champions Germany have made extremely hard work of their qualifying campaign so far. On paper, they should have six wins from six but they have uncharacteristically slipped up twice against tonight’s opponents Poland and drawn at home to Ireland. A win at home against the Polish would put them back in charge of Group D. When the chips are down, don’t ever bet against the Germans.
Serbia v Armenia – Serbia to win.
Serbia might be bottom of Group I, but they are only there by virtue of their three point deduction from UEFA. Were it not for this, Armenia would be there instead. Although the Serbs are not in the finest of form themselves, they come up against an Armenian side that has only point point so far in qualifying and has lost eight of their last nine matches. Although I wouldn’t recommend picking up tickets for this one, I can suggest backing Serbia in our accumulator tip for Euro 2016 tonight.
Faroe Islands v Northern Ireland – Northern Ireland to win.
After a terrific start to qualifying, Northern Ireland briefly sat top of Group F with maximum points from three games. Although they have stumbled of late, they still sit second in the group and could regain the top spot with three points against the Faroe Islands. With main rivals Hungary and Romania facing off against each other at the same time, a win could prove absolutely crucial. Northern Ireland won the earlier fixture between the two sides comfortably and I expect them to pinch this one as well.
Denmark v Albania – Draw.
Needless to say, the hopes of our accumulator are likely to rest firmly on the shoulders of this final match. Denmark currently sit second in Group I, level on points with opponents Albania. The Danes have had a decent qualifying campaign so far and were unfortunate to lose their crucial home tie against Portugal back in October. Albania might sound awful, but they are far from it. Currently ranked 22nd in the world, the Albanians have picked up points in all four matches in qualifying so far, only conceded a paltry two goals and also have a game in hand over most of their rivals. Neither side can afford to lose this match, which is why I can see it ending as a draw.
