Everton v Man City predictions and football betting tips for Sunday’s Premier League 4pm kick-off from our expert football tipster.
The late kick off on ‘Super Sunday’ this week sees early pacesetters Manchester City travel to Goodison Park to take on Everton. Tune into Sky Sports at the usual time of 4PM and here are our match predictions and betting tips.
Everton v Man City Predictions
Everton began this season in disappointing fashion as they were held to a 2-2 draw at home to newly promoted Watford a fortnight ago. Once again the wolves were out for Roberto Martinez after a below par 2013/14 campaign, however, The Toffees responded with a superb away win at Southampton last weekend. Whilst a narrow victory remained within the realms of possibility, considering their poor opening result, few will have expected Everton to win so convincingly against a side that finished 13 points above them last season in seventh place.
Opponents Manchester City endured a wretched preseason where they were comprehensively thrashed by Stuttgart and Real Madrid. Nevertheless, Man City certainly haven’t taken this form into the new Premier League campaign after winning two tough opening fixtures by 3 goals to nil. The victory over West Brom bore the resemblance of a training match once they had taken the lead. However, the manner in which Manuel Pellegrini’s men dispatched last year’s champions Chelsea was utterly ruthless.
Furthermore, City head into this weekend’s clash buoyed by the arrival of another big money signing in the form of Argentine Nicolas Otamendi for £32m. This acquisition has taken their current spending past the £100m mark following the previous arrivals of Raheem Sterling and Fabian Delph earlier in the summer. If this weren’t enough, though, Manuel Pellegrini has been bowling round like a drunken sailor once again and seems set to slap another £50m on the tab if the rumours of Wolfsburg’s Kevin De Bruyne ring true. Is there really any point in the FIFA Financial Fair Play rules?!
Based on their respective starts to the season, you would have to agree with City’s tag as favourites in the Everton v Man City match this weekend. If it weren’t for the brilliance of Asmir Begovic last weekend, Sergio Aguero would have had at least a hat-trick and City still ran out 3-0 winners. Although Everton have some real quality on the counter attack and have scored five goals already this season, I can see Manchester City winning this one in an entertaining affair.
My first Everton v Man City prediction is for Man City to win and both teams to score, the best odds are 13/4 at 888Sport.

Moving over to the goalscoring market for my next football betting tip and we have to be backing Sergio Aguero after his man of the match performance last weekend. Last season’s Golden Boot winner is well-priced at 3/1 with Ladbrokes to score first, if he does it in the first 25 minutes, this will rise to 6/1. It’s an absolute no-brainer.
My second Everton v Man City betting tip is for Sergio Aguero to score first, he’s 3/1 with Ladbrokes.

Finally, we’re staying in the goalscoring market and having a little punt of Everton’s Arouna Kone to score anytime in the match. The Ivorian had an unfortunate start to life on Merseyside following a truly awful knee injury. However, Kone has begun this season like a house on fire and looks to be striking up a nice little partnership with Romelu Lukaku as well.
My third Premier League prediction is for Arouna Kone to score anytime, take the 7/2 at Betfred.
