Champions League 2015 final first goalscorer betting tips for Juventus v Barcelona this weekend.
So this is it; the biggest date on the European Club Football calendar, it’s the Champions League Final and we have first goalscorer betting tips for the match.
Juventus v Barcelona First Goalscorer Betting Tips
La Liga Champions Barcelona line up to face the Old Lady of Juventus and we have the rundown of the candidates looking to notch that all important first goal.
The Catalan giants possess the most potent attacking trio ever seen in world football, whilst Juventus stormed to the Serie A title with both the best attacking as well as defensive record in the league. The showcase final at the Olympiastadion in Berlin looks all set to host a final of immense attacking quality. But, who will grab the first goal?
Lionel Messi – 7/2 at Paddy Power.
Simply unstoppable. Messi is the obvious choice as a Champions League first goalscorer. He broke the deadlock with an absolutely majestic goal in the Copa Del Rey final against Bilbao. Beating three players and cutting on to his favoured left foot to fire past the keeper at his near post, Messi once again showed the world that when Barcelona need someone to step up, he is unquestionably the man. The Argentine already has an unbelievable tally of 59 goals this season and nobody in their right mind would bet against him adding to this against Juventus. Coupled with 27 assists for the season, his all-round stats are just unbelievable and Messi is obviously my Champions League final first goalscorer prediction.
Luis Suarez – 5/1 with Bet365.
The feisty Uruguayan endured a tough start to life at Barca, but since the turn of the year he has really settled in and now spearheads the attack with purposeful runs and incisive movement. His tally of goals and assists has dramatically risen in the last six months and although he is overshadowed by Messi’s absolute genius, Suarez has the opportunity to steal some of the limelight by nicking the first goal against Juventus. His 24 goals for the season is an impressive amount for any first season and a total of 17 assists proves that he is an extremely talented team player too.
Neymar – 5/1 with Bet365.
Brazil’s golden boy has taken his game to new heights this season. Last term was a disappointment in terms of silverware and performances for Barcelona, but under Luis Enrique this season, the Catalan’s attacking trio has cemented itself as the most lethal in history. Neymar has been instrumental to this, cutting in from the left wing and causing defenders nightmares with his dribbling abilities. He has 40 goals and seven assists already this season and Juve’s defenders are going to be in for the biggest test of their careers trying to stop Barca from scoring.
Carlos Tevez – 8/1 with Ladbrokes.
Juventus bought Tevez for just £12m from Manchester City in 2013, and when you compare this with the £16m Liverpool forked out for the Argentine’s ex-Man City team mate Mario Balotelli, Juve certainly got a bargain. The well-travelled Tevez has 29 goals for the season and was instrumental in their Serie A triumph. He scored the first goal in both legs against Dortmund in the quarter-final and if you’re expecting Juventus to score the first goal, Tevez is their most likely candidate. However, Barcelona’s defence has looked a lot more solid than in recent seasons and it would be a brave man to bet on a Juve first goal.
Alvaro Morata – 11/1 with Bet365.
Morata stunned his boyhood club Real Madrid as he scored the opener in Turin in the Semi-Finals. The 22-year-old Spaniard has 14 goals from 45 games this season and is slowly but surely cementing himself within the Juventus starting line-up. The best odds for Morata to be the first scorer are 11/1 with Bet365, but I cannot see Juventus nicking the first goal.
Juventus v Barcelona First Goalscorer Betting Tip:
Lionel Messi to score first – 7/2 with Paddy Power.
Given the scintillating form that Lionel Messi is in, I cannot look past him to be the first goalscorer.
