It's the penultimate 'Super Sunday' of the Premier League season and first up is a potentially cracking game at The Liberty stadium between Swansea City and Manchester City. Swansea v Man City Predictions – Premier League:


Thanks to a terrific late surge in form over the last few weeks, Swansea City have emerged from the shadows in mid-table and given themselves an outside chance of a place in the Europa League. Whilst the likes of Tottenham appear to be doing their upmost to avoid a place in the much maligned second tier of European football, for The Swans it would be an excellent reward for achieving their highest points total in the Premier League to date.

 

Gary Monk's men have recorded five wins from their last seven matches, with last Monday's smash and grab at The Emirates easily the most impressive to date. Granted The Gunners couldn't hit a barn door on the night, but it was a fine defensive display from The Swans nevertheless. Bafetimbi Gomis returned from injury to score the decisive goal a few minutes from time – albeit with a little help from goal line technology – and should get the nod up front for Swansea v man City this weekend.

 

For Manchester City, their disappointing season never quite capitulated as much as it threatened a few weeks ago thanks to a mixture of decent form and the teams around them dropping points. Manuel Pellegrini's men have now won their four matches on the bounce, a run which has seen Sergio Aguero climb to the top of the Premier League scoring charts thanks to eight goals in his last five appearances.

 

Easily the most emphatic of these recent performances came last weekend when City blew away a woeful QPR side 6-0 at The Etihad. Once again it was Aguero that stole the headlines with a hat-trick and a couple of assists, but the all-round team performance was excellent. Yes, you can only beat what's put in front of you, but if City had played like that every week, they would have given Chelsea a far greater run for their money.

 

Based on recent form, this is not the easiest match to predict for our weekend football tips. Swansea looked very solid away to Arsenal on Monday, whilst maintaining a threat on the break through the likes of Sigurdsson and Monterro. However, with home advantage they may have to approach the match in a slightly different manner which could well play into Manchester City's hands. With the excellent form of Aguero to boot, I can see this match going the way of the visitors for my Premier League predictions.

 

However, there's not an awful lot of value on offer backing City at 3/4 and the risk by far outweighs the reward. With this in mind, back Manchester City to win and BTTS at a best price of 9/4 with Coral. This has been the outcome the last two times the sides have met in the league and Manchester City have the best record in the league for BTTS matches away from home.

Moving over to the goalscoring market, and as I previously mentioned, Bafetimbi Gomis should be involved after his return from injury. The French international was in fine form before his unfortunate injury against Everton a few games ago, but picked straight up from where he left off with his winner against Arsenal earlier in the week.

 

Our next Swansea v Man City prediction is Gomis to score anytime in the match at 11/4 with Sky Bet, but also have a punt on him scoring with a header at 12/1 with the same bookmaker. City aren't always the most composed in defence at set-pieces and have conceded a number of headed goals this already this season, there is definitely a window of opportunity here.
