Fantasy Football Guide and Tips for this Weekend

The end of the season is nigh and we are coming into the final stretch for our fantasy football guide!

Chelsea have been crowned champions already, but there is still everything to play for in our fantasy football leagues! I will pick the players who may give you the points needed to beat your friends!

Last week’s team

Thibaut Courtois – 6 points

John Terry – 5 points

Hector Bellerin – 2 points

Branislav Ivanovic – 5 points

Daley Blind – 2 points

Ander Herrera – 2 points

Cesc Fabregas – 2 points

Eden Hazard – 5 points

Ashley Young – 2 points

Christian Benteke – 12 points

Harry Kane – 1 point

Verdict; 44 points – Mid Table

Team for next week:

Goalkeeper

1. David Ospina – Arsenal

Next fixture: Swansea (H)

Previous match: vs. Hull – Won 3-1

I was inclined to pick Courtois, however I feel Mourinho will use the final games to give Petr Cech some action. Ospina is a very good choice nonetheless and he has conceded just 2 goals in his last 7 home league games. Swansea are tough opposition but Arsenal are in tremendous form both attacking-wise and defensively.

Defenders

2. John Terry – Chelsea

Next fixture: Liverpool

Previous match: vs. Crystal Palace – Won 1-0

Terry has played every minute of every Premier League game this season and I don't think he would appreciate being rested even after winning the title. Terry has led Chelsea superbly this season and is an a good pick for a game in which I still expect Chelsea to win, despite only having pride to play for.

3. Hector Bellerin – Arsenal

Next fixture: Swansea (H)

Previous match – vs. Hull – Won 3-1

Bellerin has been Arsenal’s outstanding youngster this season and has cemented his place in the first team. Swansea are up next but Arsenal have home advantage and I fully expect them to continue their superb form.

4. Jolean Lescott – West Brom

Next fixture: Newcastle (A)

Previous match: vs. Man Utd – Won 1-0

West Brom have won their last 2 away games against Man United and Crystal Palace without conceding a single goal. They have really tightened up defensively under Tony Pulis and with a Newcastle side in free fall up next, I am expecting an away win to nil. Lescott has been crucial to Brom’s good defensive record and I expect him to continue this against a shockingly disjointed Magpies team.

5. Laurent Koscielny – Arsenal

Next fixture: Swansea (H)

Previous match: vs. Hull – Won 3-1

The Frenchman has been key to Arsenal’s recent fine form and has been the rock that Arsenal have desperately needed. The Gunners are in fine form and I expect them to continue this against Swansea at The Emirates.

Midfielders

6. Fabien Delph – Aston Villa

Next fixture: West Ham (H)

Previous match: vs. Everton – Won 3-2

Delph has really broken through this season and earned his first international caps as a reward. Tim Sherwood says he is the best midfielder in the Premiership on form, and although this is very much debatable, there is no doubt that Delph has been crucial to Villa’s recent fine form. West Ham are in terrible away form and have not won in 10 matches on the road. I expect Delph to put in another top performance as Villa look to seal their Premiership status for another season.

7. Mesut Ozil

Next fixture: Swansea (H)

Previous match: vs. Hull – Won 3-1

Most of Arsenal’s midfielders are completely in form at the moment and it is difficult to choose between them for my fantasy team. Last time out it was Ramsey on form against Hull, however he sustained an injury in the match and is doubtful for the Swansea game. Ozil has been consistent since his return from injury and he has chipped in with assists at regular intervals. Therefore it is the German who makes my team this week.

8. Eden Hazard – Chelsea

Next fixture: Liverpool (H)

Previous match: vs. Crystal Palace – Won 1-0

The player of the season was Chelsea's hero once again, he may have missed the penalty but he tucked away the rebound very skilfully. He has dragged his team through some tough matches and fully deserves the title of best player this season. Mourinho very rarely rests him and I expect him to line up against Liverpool. Chelsea will want to maintain their good home record and despite having the title in the bag already, they won't take the Liverpool match lightly.

9. Yannick Bolasie

Next fixture: vs. Man United

Previous match: vs. Chelsea – Lost 1-0

Bolasie is one of those players that, on his day, is virtually unplayable. If he can get his game consistent, he will turn into a top notch player. He has three games left this season to impress any potential big clubs looking for a player like him and I feel he may dent United’s Champions League hopes in the Saturday evening kickoff.

Forwards

10. Christian Benteke – Aston Villa

Next fixture: West Ham (H)

Previous match: vs. Everton – Won 3-2

The Belgian is the most in form player over the last 6 games in fantasy football. His 7 goals in his last 5 games have won many points for a Villa side who surely have enough quality to stay up. A win against West Ham would all but secure their Premier League status and The Hammers are in pretty poor form. I think Benteke will add to his tally in this one.

11. Alexis Sanchez

Next fixture: Swansea (H)

Previous match: vs. Hull – Won 3-1

Sanchez scored 2 against Hull and could have had 4 or 5. He has 5 goals in his last 5 games and with Swansea up next at the Emirates, he will be hoping to notch a few more. Arsenal are looking to secure second place in the Premiership; a feat they haven't achieved since 2005. Sanchez has had periods of excellent form this season and is a decent pick for any fantasy team.
