Bilbao have lost just one in eight, that loss coming against Barça.  They beat Real 1-0 in their last home fixture and have won their last four home and away. Almeria come into this having taken just two points from their last five matches and have scored zero goals during those games.

 

QPR are our third pick and there’s a few reasons why they could upset the odds against Everton on Sunday. The R’s have gone down by the odd goal in their last three matches but those were against Arsenal, Southampton and Spurs, all better teams than Everton. Their home form is identical to that of the Toffee’s it’s their away form that has let them down and this is the main reason they are where they are. The away side are playing in Kiev this Thursday in the second leg of their Europa League tie. The scoreline is quite tight so extra time is a possibility. Also, they have lost four from eight directly after a Europa League tie and have tasted defeat in three of four games in the capital this season. We go with QPR but we’ll play them QPR/Draw in the double chance market.

 

No European acca is complete without Bayern Munich on our slip so they get the nod at home against Mönchengladbach. Sine their January ‘wobble’ where they lost one, drew one, after their winter break, the boys from Bavaria have won six in a row scoring 27 goals in those six matches. That’s right, Twenty Seven. Die Fohlen may sit third in the league but there’s a gulf in class between the two teams and that class will out on Sunday afternoon.

 

He was much maligned in Manchester but David Moyes has slowly steered Real Sociedad to mid table and this has come back on some impressive home form. Since taking over in November they have played seven games at Anoeta winning five, taking the scalps of Sevilla and Barcelona. They take on a Cordoba side that have lost their last eight games, who haven’t scored an away goal with their boots since 6th December and sit dead last in La Liga.

 

Next up we go with one of only two teams that have an unbeaten home record in Serie A and that is Sampdoria. The home side are currently in a four way battle for Italy’s third Champions League spot and need to kick on should they have any hope of returning to Europe’s elite competition. The only niggling doubt I have is that they have had more draws than wins at Stadio Luigi Ferraris (six wins to seven draws) and they play an Inter side that has found some semblance of form since Mancini has taken over. Couple that with the fact Inter have drawn six from 14 away games and it makes sense to side with Sampdoria/Draw in the double chance market.

 

Our final pick comes in the shape of one of Sampdoria’s rivals for third spot and that’s the team who currently occupy that position, Lazio. They boast the second best home record in Serie A; have won their last five straight conceding just once. They play a Verona side that sit in mid table with no worries about relegation and have just won once from their last five on the road.
