Weekend Accumulator Tips:

Chelsea to beat Tottenham – 4/6

The Capital One Cup final provides the first opportunity for silverware, with London rivals Chelsea and Tottenham meeting at Wembley this weekend. Having been left outraged at some referring decisions in their 1-1 draw with Burnley last Saturday, Jose Mourinho will surely use this as extra incentive to ensure his Chelsea side win this one. The Blues are in decent form with just the one defeat in 10 league games; a 5-3 loss at White Hart Lane that they will also be keen to avenge. Spurs meanwhile have stuttered somewhat in the last few weeks, as a build-up of games looks to be taking their toll on the side. They were fortunate to earn a point against West Ham last weekend, and with a crucial Europa League tie in Italy just days before this one, their preparation will have been limited. Chelsea meanwhile, have had all week to focus on this fixture, and as the stronger of the two sides, should have enough to get the better of Spurs this time around.

Genoa to beat Parma – 4/9

With the very existence of Serie A’s bottom side Parma in doubt due to financial reasons, things are looking increasingly worrying for one of Italy’s most famous clubs, making their trip to Genoa this weekend appear somewhat of a banker for the home side. Genoa sit in sixth place at present, hot on the heels of those sides above them occupying the European places. Unbeaten in four, thy put five past Verona in their last home game, and must be confident of a repeat performance given the problems Parma are facing. The visitors have lost 18 of their 23 league games this season, and have managed just four points on their travels with nine defeats. Despite a positive point at Roma in their previous outing, four straight defeats before that, make it extremely difficult to make a case for them this time. A bottom three finish looks a certainty; 13 points off safety, as does a home win for Genoa at a very inviting price for our accumulator tip.

Man City to beat Liverpool – 11/8

Reining champions Manchester City travel to Liverpool this weekend, knowing that a win will see them just two points behind Chelsea in the race for the title. Two impressive victories in succession; in which they scored nine goals in the process, has coincided with the return of Yaya Toure, and they will be eager to continue to pile the pressure on Chelsea in a bid to retain their title. The visitors have the best away record in the league, with just one defeat and eight wins so far, and will be looking to put a disappointing display against Barcelona behind them. A trip to Anfield does pose a difficult challenge, given Liverpool’s strong form of late. The home side are unbeaten in 10, and sit just outside the top four. Despite a 2-0 win away at Southampton last week, they were somewhat fortunate to leave St Mary’s with all three points, having been outplayed for long periods. With a tough trip to Turkey in the Europa League just three days before this one, as well as a couple of injury worries, this could give City a slight advantage, in what looks a tough one to call. Therefore, a chance is taken on the visitors, who may well sneak all three points.

Norwich to beat Ipswich – 4/5

A hotly anticipated derby at Carrow Road this weekend sees Norwich host Ipswich, with both sides gunning for promotion.  Norwich are the form side of the division with five straight wins, which has put them right in the mix and sees them just four points off an automatic spot. Impressive away wins at Blackburn and Watford in succession will leave them full of confidence of extending this run, and building on a decent home record of late, which has seen them record four wins from their last five. Ipswich find themselves just a point ahead of their rivals heading into this game, and will provide a stern test as they look to close the gap on the top two. However, two defeats in their last three away games have proved disappointing; both coming at sides in the bottom seven. In what has all the makings of a tight encounter, Norwich are fancied to just edge out Ipswich, and make it six wins on the bounce.

Real Madrid to beat Villarreal – 1/4

Real have recovered from their humiliating defeats to rivals Atletico with successive 2-0 wins, extending their lead at the top of La Liga to four points in the race for the title. And with 10 wins from 11 at home this season, are expected to win another three points when they welcome Villarreal to the Bernabeu this weekend. The hosts have netted an incredible 74 goals already this term, an average of around three per game, and have only failed to win four times this season, with 20 wins along the way. The visitors have failed to win any of their last four away games, and two successive defeats on the road have dented their hopes of Champions League qualification. With Villarreal in Europa League action just three days ago, Madrid will also be the fresher of the two sides, and should be able to take advantage of this to run out comfortable winners.
