Middlesbrough are one of a number of teams involved in the race for promotion to the Premier League, and have a real chance of making it if they continue their impressive form of late. They hold the second best away form in the division, and should be expected to take this into the cup when they visit League One side Barnsley. The home side find themselves down in 16th place in the division, and have struggled for consistency in the first half of the season. They have only managed four victories in front of their home fans, and could struggle once again, against superior opposition. After an impressive run in the League Cup, hopefully Middlesbrough will be keen for another cup run to go alongside their league campaign, and will prove strong enough to win the game.

 

Bolton to beat Wigan – 6/4

An intriguing local derby is up next, as Bolton host neighbours Wigan in the FA Cup. Since Neil Lennon’s arrival, Bolton have been rejuvenated, and have climbed up the Championship table away from the relegation zone. With four wins and a draw in their last five at home, they will pose a difficult test for a Wigan side in turmoil at this moment in time. Despite their love affair with the FA Cup in recent seasons, they may well be focused on their precarious league position, where they find themselves second bottom and involved in a relegation battle. The Latics have lost four of their last five games, with the same record on their travels in recent weeks. Given the contrasting form of the two sides, Bolton look a decent price to continue their strong home form and heap further misery on their rivals.

 

Swindon to beat Fleetwood Town – 13/10

Swindon continued their fine form over the Christmas period, maintaining their push for an automatic promotion spot in League One. With four wins in their last five games, they sit second in the table, just a point off top spot, and they will confident of picking up another three points when they travel to Fleetwood this weekend. At present, Fleetwood find themselves positioned in mid-table in the league, but have failed to win any of their last three home games, scoring just once in the process. Given Swindon boast the best away record in the division; with seven wins already on their travels, the visitors are fancied to do so once again, and hopefully their superior class will see them through once again.

 

Wycombe to beat Hartlepool – 4/7

Another side very much involved in the hunt for automatic promotion is Wycombe of League Two who also sit second in the division. Despite only managing three draws over the last fortnight, they find themselves level on points with league leaders Shrewsbury, and look a great bet for our football accumulator tip to get back to winning ways at home against bottom side Hartlepool.
