Sunday’s Accumulator Tips

Manchester United to beat Liverpool – 5/6

Manchester United are the form team in the Premier League having won their last five games, and will no doubt be full of confidence going into Sunday’s clash with fierce rivals Liverpool, in one of English football’s biggest fixtures.  In contrast to last season, it’s the Red Devils who are challenging towards the top of the league, occupying third place in a bid to regain their Champions League status. Their opponents meanwhile are enduring a difficult campaign, a long way off the high levels they set last season. Down in ninth position, and coming off the back of a painful midweek week result in Europe that saw them dumped out of the Champions League by Basel, the pressure continues to mount on both Brendan Rodgers and his players to start finding some form. With six home wins from eight so far, as well as a creditable draw with league leaders Chelsea, they have began to make Old Trafford a fortress once more, and despite a host of injuries, their attacking options should give them edge in order to take all three points and pile further misery on the Merseyside outfit.

Atletico Madrid to beat Villarreal – 8/13

It’s third verses sixth in La Liga this weekend, as Villarreal travel to the Vicente Calderon to take on reining champions Atletico Madrid. Both teams come into this in good form with Atletico looking to keep up with rivals Real and Barcelona in the race for the title, with just four points separating the three sides after 14 games. Villarreal have lost just once on the road so far, so they certainly won’t be fazed by this weekend’s trip to Madrid, however given Atletico posses a near perfect record on their own patch, it’s hard to oppose Diego Simeone’s men. Unbeaten at home, with five consecutive victories, they hold the best home record in the division, and continue to be difficult to beat. With this in mind, they are fancied to get the better of Villarreal this time around, making them the next selection in Sunday’s accumulator tip.

Juventus to beat Sampdoria – 7/20

With both sides having suffered just one defeat a piece, this promises to be an intriguing game, where the visitors will look to test their Champions League credentials against the best Italy has to offer. And although on a fine run off form, it’s once again hard to oppose Juventus, especially on their own turf. Juve have won all six home fixtures so far this campaign, conceding just three goals in the process, highlighting just how difficult it is for visiting sides to leave with even a point. With this in mind, Juventus are the selection once again to get the win, in what could be a fascinating game.

Fiorentina to beat Cesena – 11/20

Champions League hopefuls Fiorentina will be looking to close the gap on the top three this weekend, when they travel to relegation threatened Cesesna. Two wins, followed by a good draw with champions Juventus, have got Fiorentina back on track after two defeats, and they now find themselves mid table in Serie A, six points behind third placed Genoa. They will be expected to make it three away wins on the bounce, against second bottom Cesena who have managed just one victory all season. Fiorentina will be expected to ensure that run doesn’t come to an end, and providing they turn up with the correct attitude, should be strong enough to come away with the victory.

Wolfsburg to beat Paderborn – 2/5

Nine wins from 14 have propelled Wolfsburg them into second place behind runaway leaders Bayern, thanks in part to their outstanding home record. They remain undefeated at home this season, having won six out of seven so far, conceding just one goal in the process, and will fancy themselves to record another victory against an out of form Paderborn side. The visitors have struggled on their travels, picking up just one win and on a run of three straight defeats without scoring.

PSG to beat Guingamp – 1/2

French giants PSG complete the Sunday six-fold accumulator tip, with the defending champions once again a favourable price to pick up all three points against a Guingamp side positioned porously close to the Ligue 1 relegation zone. The Parisian side find themselves just a point off top spot, and with the Champions League safely out of the way until the New Year, will be looking to kick on and overhaul Marseille at the top. Despite a disappointing number of draws so far (seven), they are still unbeaten having won their other 10 games.
